Rules for presentation

Poster

The format of the page should be vertical with dimensions of 120 cm (height) by 90 cm (width)). The poster should be printed by the attendee to be presented during all of the days of the congress. Posters will be presented in an appropriate space in the congress headquarters. The precise location can be identified prior with a number that will be assigned to the presenter days before the presentation. Although posters will be on display throughout the congress, the presenter will be notified by email about the session in which it will be presented. Posters will also be presented on a screen for oral defense.

Recommendations:  Please use fonts of between 60 and 100 for titles and between 30 and 50 for text. For graph labels, use font size 14. Slide backgrounds should be light in color. Be sure that all graphs and images are of good quality.

Before the start of the congress, please send the post in powerpoint or pdf format, when notified. You can use the congress template (coming soon).

At the beginning of the congress the printed poster will be posted in the appropriate location.

The poster session presentation: At least one of the author(s) registered in the congress should participate in the poster session and provide a three-minute presentation and two-minute discussion. The session moderator will supervise the authors and will maintain strict compliance with the presentation times.

After the session: The certificate of presentation of the poster will be provided only when the poster has been presented. Otherwise, the certificate will not be provided.

The summaries of the abstracts whose presenter has registered prior to March 15 will be published in the book of proceedings of the congress.

Oral presentations

For oral presentations, please prepare powerpoint slides. A congress template will be provided (coming soon). PowerPoint or PDF presentations should be emailed after receipt of the notification of the determination of the type of session.

Recommendations:

  1. Include a declaration of conflicts of interest on the first slide.
  2. The presentation should follow the structure for each type of work.
  3. Observe the “6×6″ rule for text slides. Six words per line and six lines per slide.
  4. Use the “4×7″ rule for tables. Four columns and seven rows per table maximum.
  5. Limit the use of abbreviations in text and table slides.
  6. Use a font size between 18 and 22.
  7. Avoid the use of UPPER CASE and cursive in slides, which are difficult to read.
  8. Avoid the “rainbow effect”: do not use more than three colors for text on any slide.
  9. Avoid over use of special effects. The abuse of effects (movements on a slide) is tiring to the audience and detracts attention from the content.
  10. Stay below a factor of 1.5 for the relationship between the minutes of presentation to number of slides. There should be a maximum of twelve slides for a presentation of eight minutes.

Before the beginning of the session: You should arrive at the CITO information point at least 30 minutes before the start of your session. The location and time will be confirmed on the final program and via email.

During the session: The projection of your presentation will be on a screen situated behind you. If you need audiovisual support during your presentation (printed, tablet or computer) you must bring it yourself. The time assigned to present oral communications is a maximum of eight minutes for presentations and two minutes for questions. This limit will be applied by the moderators who will supervise strict compliance with this limit. Therefore, questions and answers during this time should be concise and specific.

After the session: A certificate of presentation will be provided with the successful presentation of the work. If no presentation is carried out, a certificate will not be supplied.

The summaries of the abstracts whose presenter has registered prior to March 15 will be published in the book of proceedings of the congress.

Conflicts of interest :
Publicity is strictly prohibited. Specifically prohibited are:

  • Sector businesses.
  • Apps, websites o working methods in which the presenter has financial interests.

If the project presented has received any funding from public or private sources, this should be indicated in one of the slides, as well as the role the funding played in the project development.
